Cant get them out of my Head...Reckys Absolute must haves on his Mp3 gizmo

LET IT ROCK

G'day,
Now as you may have gathered, although I lean towards the more metallic genres, I do have quite a few songs that i've found over the years that whatever portable music gizmo Im using at the time, these songs find a home onsaid gadget..

BITS & PIECES

So lets go through the list of songs Im stuck with...AND WHAT A LIST

WHAT A MOUTH

The Angels - Mr Damage, Chuck Berry - Let it Rock, Ram Jam - Black Betty , Sex Pistols  -  Holidays in the Sun,  Journey - Anyway you want it, Kevin Johnson - Rock n Roll I gave you all the best years of my life, Wings - Mull of Kintyre, Neil Young - Powderfinger, Tommy Steele - What a Mouth, MotorheadGirl - Please dont touch, Black Sabbath - Never say die, Led Zeppelin - Rock n Roll, Meat Loaf - Bat out of hell, Dave Clark 5 -Bits and Pieces, Blue Cheer - Summertime Blues, KISS - Rock and Roll all Nite, Rose Tattoo -Never Too Loud,  Michael Monroe - Dead Jail or Rock n Roll, Sweet - Fever of Love, David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust, King Crimson -  21st Century Schizoid man, Mott the Hoople - All the Young Dudes, Sweet Turn it Down.,

Dead , Jail or Rock n Roll

Yep, your a bit right, thats fairly eclectic innit?...

ONE PIECE AT A TIME

The first tune that got stuck in my head was What a Mouth by Tommy Steele, which i found buried in a pile of 45s my uncle owned but before you go mental, I was only six when I found it

RADAR LOVE

And since that point in Reck n Roll history I have expanded expodentially in many varied directions, I mean King Crimson in a song list next to The Sweet ?..I would imagine Robert Fripp from Crimson going rather grumpy seeing that.
But then the whole list is a bit like that Chuck Berry next to The Sex Pistols, The Angels (or Angel City if your a yank) next to Wings, Kevin Johnson next to Michael Monroe and so on and so forth .

FEVER OF LOVE

Now like I said , these tunes have been around a while, the newest one would probably be Michael Monroe from 1989 and the first would definately be Tommy Steele for release date two years before my birth from 1960 which slightly pipped Chuck Berrys "Let it Rock"

HOLIDAY IN THE SUN

The list has some dead set legends in it (Led Zep, Bowie, Neil Young,  DC5, Johnny Cash) and some that came that close its not worth talking about (Mott, Rosey Tatts, Golden Earring, Michael Monroe) and some that have gone down in music history for reasons both good and godawful (Kiss, Pistols, Meat Loaf, Wings) and one hit wonders (in Orstraylya anyway,  Ram Jam)

BLACK BETTY

Yep, from Orstraylya to Blighty to the Seppo's ( and a glam rocker from Finland) my music tastes are decidely wacky But that can be said of just about everybody cant it , hell, wouldnt it suck if we all dug the same stuff...
anyway....
raise your glasses to Rock n FKN Roll and to paraphrase The Sweet ...FOR GOD SAKES TURN IT UP

Top 5 : Status Quo...Rocking All Over this Blogaroo

Time for a Quo top five (ish) mainly because I just got the double dvd of all their film clips, so that's me inspired.

the first time I saw them was when they toured Orstraylya with Slade AND wot a gig ...OUTSTANDING, that was me corrupted

Then came Down Down on the radio as a new release, and some album purchases later I had myself a fine collection of Quoism's that has yet to abate .

There has been a couple of reunion tours with Lancaster and Coughlan recently and even more recently the boys have gone sideways into Aquostic gigs ....and Ric Parfitt looks to be retired (sort of) so I guess thats Quo to the Remember them file in my brain...OR NOT think i'll just leave them were they belong.... on top of a massive pile of musical greatness

Now I guess we all know the "BIG" Hits , Mystery song, Paper plane , Rockin etc etc ..so this top five will be more recent ones that have found a permanent place on my mp3 gizmo....and here they are ....

do with what you see fit

bugger it , lets start with the hippy song

Top 5 of : REBEL SON

I discovered Rebel Son, which is an all original  honky tonk rockabilly rock n' roll band from the Carolinas, about 3 years ago and got into there rockabilly boogie quite quickly

The  band consists of .....guitarist/singer/songwriter, Lee Johnson, bassist, Dave Schneider and tub thumper, Ron Kirk

Now I dunno whether the stars and bars they fly indicate their political persuasion and quite frankly I dont give a f**k...I'm here for the tunes only ...and they have quite a collection of rollicking greatness BUT if you are of a gentle persuasion , you may want to avoid listening to the clips, cause to be fair , they swear a little bit

So here you go my five favourite tunes (or thereabouts)...remember they swear a little bit

Im having a flashback:..Forgotten Aussie Metal bands

I was sitting here scanning the intraweb this morning and happened upon a video for a band that I, and probably the rest of Downunder had forgotten about , I stacked a few more hidden gems from my collection on a wordpad and ened up building this blogaroo...enjoy

Escape were a heavy metal band based in Gawler, South Australia.
John The Beast, Tony Decay, Bob Gillette & Pil plied their trade up until their final gig in early 1988 after a horrific car wreck on the way back from a gig
They were a very heavy, very visual band, they sadly only released a demo

Craig Csongrady (vocals) originally formed Boss in Adelaide, Australia, during 1979. Kevin Pratt (guitar) and Csongrady moved in 1980 to Sydney, where Dapto, Wollongong guitarist Peter Sutcliffe was added to the line-up. Boss commenced a heavy schedule of live performances on the Sydney pub and club circuit. Most notably, some of the band's best performances were at the Astra Hotel Bondi. In 1983, Boss released a two-track self-titled single, produced by Jon Kennett....

The band had a very short-lived career that was at its peak in 1984 with the international release of the LP Step On It. The LP was well received in Europe, but failed to achieve the same success locally, and the band fell apart soon after. Many fans were disappointed to learn that a Roland TR-909 drum machine was used instead of a real drummer on the Step On It LP. The success of Step On It also saw Boss support a number of bigger acts including Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, and Ronnie James Dio.

After Boss split in the mid-1980s, vocalist Craig Csongrady and lead guitarist Kevin Pratt formed BB Steal.

Bengal Tigers formed in Melbourne in 1979 and by 1982 had been signed to Mushroom Records, releasing an EP called Metal Fetish, although neither this release nor two later singles met with much success. The band released another EP in 1995, entitled Pain Clinic, and an album in 1997, called In the Blood.

Heaven formed in Sydney out of an Adelaide band called Fat Lip in 1980 and became a second-tier attraction in the US on the strength of their second album, touring widely and opening for the likes of Judas Priest, Kiss and Mötley Crüe before eventually imploding in 1985

On 4 June 2015 it was announced that Heaven's vocalist, Allan Fryer, had died after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his daughter, Kallan and 4 grand-children.

so there you go just a quick one until i finish my "songs stuck in my head blog"..
